William B. Tabler's original vision

Berkshire collaborated with William B. Tabler's prominent New York architectural practice to revisit the Statler Hilton's design and develop adaptive reuse concepts for hotel and residential use.

Our project history traces the original concept and site acquisition to 1946, beginning a development journey of approximately ten years that culminated in the hotel's opening in 1956.

Tabler's distinctive Y-shaped tower and cantilevered flat-slab structure established a modern architectural landmark.
